Okay so as you know I’m trying to bring my sexy back. And watching a lot of youtube videos in the process. I have always been into makeup. Since I was like 13 I’ve always been obsessed with makeup in the teen magazines and I even had this binder that I got from the Burger King Kid’s club that was for teens and every month it would ship these inserts to put in the binder about fashion, makeup, boys, all kinds of things. I wish I had kept it. But I digress…the point is I’ve always loved makeup. But I wasn’t allowed to wear it until I was 16. Of course I wore mascara and lipgloss before then, but when I turned 16 I asked my mom for makeup as my gift. And we went to Walmart and got foundation, eyeshadow and lipstick. I was so fab!
So I’ve been into makeup for years. A lot of my friends thru the years weren’t as in to makeup. Idk if it’s a black thing or what, but they just weren’t. I love to watch them do makeup on QVC. I use Bare Minerals for my foundation and I learn a lot up there. But now that i’ve been youtubing, I’m learning even more. Apparently everybody is obsessed with MAC. I used MAC for my wedding makeup. And I looked fabulous. But let’s face it…MAC is hella expensive. I mean, it’s ridiculous. Let’s say you want some foundation, well you have to buy the foundation, you’ll need a setting powder, and to get the best look, you need the foundation brush and powder brush, and we haven’t even gotten into concealer, concealer brush, or primer. So let’s just talk about prices for a bit:
- Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is the main liquid foundation and it retails for $26.00
- Mineralize Skinfinish Natural poweder $25.00
- Foundation Brush $32.00
- 150 large powder brush $42.00
- 134 large powder brush $52.00
See what I’m saying? And this is just your base, not your concealer, not your blush, not your eyes or lips or the brushes that are needed to go with. I listed two powder brushes because you have the choice of the look you want and the type of brush you would like. But this brings me to the point of the blog. You see how just one powder brush is $50??? Ok, that’s crazy to me. I’m not a makeup artist so my tools don’t have to be top of the line. There’s a website called http://www.ioffer.com/ and I’ve known about this website for quite some time. I just haven’t used it. It’s like ebay in how it works but here’s the thing. It’s known for selling a lot of fakes. Like fake Coach, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, that kinda thing. I personally am not into fake bags. I’d rather wait for the real deal bc I’m not into bags like that. I just need my purse to be cute and functional.
But they also have what you would call Fake MAC. Now I don’t care so much about if it’s fake or not. Because I wasn’t buying MAC before so I don’t really care. That’s not even what I’m trying to buy. What I want is a brush kit. I can get a 32 piece brush kit with satchel $36 including shipping. These brushes and makeup sets are made in the same factory as the real MAC cosmetics are. So I’m gonna cop that one of these days soon. And I want it mainly for the eye brushes because it really does take quite a few eye brushes to create a good look. I don’t use liquid foundation so I don’t need the rest but even if you don’t care about MAC, to get 32 brushes for $36 from any brand is a freakin steal!!! I don’t want to be a MAC snob. I have no problem being a Bare Minerals snob tho! lol But I’m into Sephora and into eyeshadows so I would like to buy the real deal with other brands too. But I just can’t pass up this brush kit for when I’m using non-Bare Minerals makeup. Fake or not, I really don’t care!
