The best thing ever happened to me this morning!!! Well not the best thing ever, but hey this is enough to put a smile on my face!! So let me set the scene…this morning was a doozy of a morning…didn’t go to bed till late last night, so when my alarm went off this morning, my body had no will to move…add to that the fact that based on last night, my back is now in extreme pain…but anyway, needless to say no workout this morning. Fast forward about 30 minutes…hubby can’t find his wallet and is going back in forth thru the house trying to find it, therefore making a lot of noise and waking me up…then Brianna starts knocking on her bedroom door, which she knows better than to do…so the kids are now up and this is all before 7am!!! So my morning has had a rough start…makes me think, if I had woken up to workout I would have been a little more prepared for the events because I would have been awake and blood pumping, instead of in a groggy, irritable state of sleep.
Ok so on to the good part right? Once I finally peeled myself away from my bed to go wash my face and whatnot…I noticed as washing my face, that it appeared a little slimmer. Now if you’ve ever lost weight you know that usually someone else will say to you that you look slimmer or whatever, because you look at yourself everyday you don’t see the small changes…well I decided let me just see what the scale says. I don’t know if I stated in a blog post before, but I removed the scale from the bathroom and put it under my bed. I didn’t want to focus on the number, I wanted to focus on the inches, the way my clothes fit, the accomplished workouts…those things. I can still easily access my scale, I just don’t see it everyday. So I stepped on it…and low and behold…it said 196.2!!!! WooooHoooo!!!! Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve been under 200lbs??? I mean this is a feat I tell you!!! I also lost 2% body fat!!! Now my scale isn’t always the most accurate, so I usually step on it 3 times and if the number stays the same at least 2 of the 3 times, I go with that weight…and my friends…this number is legit!!! I’m definitely as happy as a clam right now…and I will be ordering my first reward when I get home tonight!!!
This just goes to show that even though I wasn’t able to workout like I wanted to due to my back, by focusing on my eating, that’s how I dropped the pounds. I still had a few setbacks, like drinking a few too many sodas, and stress eating last week, but overall I was eating very well, and will continue to do so. There’s nothing more motivating than progress! J
